The
Lowe Syndrome Trust was founded in June 2000.
It
is the only
UK
organisation fundraising for the childrens
incurable genetic disease called Lowe (OCRL) which affects
the Brain,
Eyes,
Kidneys, Bones and Muscles.
Sadly, life expectancy is short.
The
Trust
is run by volunteers
and receives no Government
support.
Since
forming, the Trust has funded the first UK Lowe Syndrome
research projects at
Great
Ormond
Street
Hospital
, Imperial College London, University College London,
Dundee
University
and is also contributing to projects in the
USA
.
